What’s included in a standard installation?
A dedicated protected circuit (RCD/RCBO), the cable run covered by your chosen distance tier, mounting the charger, full testing and a Certificate of Electrical Safety on completion. If your install needs more — switchboard work, trenching, difficult access — we tell you up front and price it into the one fixed quote. Same crew, no second tradie. What if my cable run is longer than I guessed?
The technician measures the actual cable route with you before any work starts — the route matters, not the straight-line distance (a two-storey run via the roof can be longer than it looks). If the measured run lands in a different tier, you approve the published tier price on the spot before work begins. Runs beyond 30 m are priced per metre: $38.50 single-phase or $71.50 three-phase, including GST.
Do I need three phase?
Most homes don’t. A 7 kW single-phase wall charger suits the majority of Melbourne homes. If you’ve got three phase (or you’re planning for two EVs), a 22 kW setup is worth a look — we’ll tell you straight which one fits.
Why do you only supply SEVR chargers?
Because specialising makes us better at it. SEVR is Australian, every unit carries a 3-year Australian-backed warranty, and we install them week in, week out — so we know exactly how they behave on Melbourne switchboards, with solar, and with every EV brand. One product done properly beats a catalogue of maybes.
Can I supply my own charger?
Yes — install-only is welcome, and we fit all major brands. One honest difference: when we supply the SEVR unit, we stand behind the whole job. When you supply the charger, the product warranty sits with your supplier and we warrant our installation work.
What’s wrong with just using a power point?
Nothing — if you drive under ~20 km a day. It adds roughly 12 km of range per hour versus about 46 km/h from a dedicated wall charger. Most EV owners outgrow the power point fast.
